RADIO DAZE 2001
Radio Daze 2001 will be held May 18 and 19 (Friday and Saturday), 2001 at the Comfort Inn of Plymouth (same location as last year).
This is NARC's premier event. It is also co-sponsored by both the Antique Wireless
Association (AWA) and the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting and offers a two day swap meet, radio contest, luncheon, program, and an awards presentation. It is an event which is well attended by prominent radio collectors from across the country. The radio contest is well represented with equipment displayed from the early 1920's to the 1960's. A visit to the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting is always a highlight
of 'Radio Daze'. Flyers will be mailed in early April to all known collectors in the five state area.
Note:
We are looking for some nice items for Friday's auction, so please let us know if you have any special radios you want to consign!
We've added two new categories to the contest - Art-Deco Radios and Cathedral & Tombstone Radios! Be sure to bring some of your best radios to enter into the contest!
Saturday's featured program will be a performance by Twin Cities area broadcaster and recording artist Arnie Fogel.
This year's radio to be raffled will be a Philco Model 71 cathedral! This radio is fully restored so be sure to get some raffle tickets!
