1999 FALL SWAP MEET
9 AM - Saturday November 6, 1999
NARC's annual fall swap meet will be held on Saturday November 6th, 1999 at the St. Croix Lutheran High School located at 1200 Oakdale Ave., West St. Paul, Minnesota.
This is an enjoyable meet that usually has about 25-30 vendors with some very nice radios for sale and lots of buyers. Be sure to come!
Admission is free to all current NARC members (and immediate family members), while others will be charged $1 at the door. If you haven't renewed your annual membership, this would be an excellent time to do so. Renewal forms will be available at the registration table.
There will be several changes made at this years meet, so please read the following carefully.
The meet will start an hour later than last year, so the doors will not open for seller setup until 8:00 am. Entrance to the school prior to 9 am will be strictly monitored. All persons
entering prior to 9 am MUST pay for a selling space as they enter or they will not get in. The cost to sell is $10.00 per table for members. Non-members will be charged $20 for a table and can then have a free 1-year membership. There generally are plenty of tables, so advance reservations will not be taken.
Those not selling and the general public will be admitted between 9:00 am and 2:00pm. Everyone will need to stop at the registration desk on their way in and must wear the nametags they will receive.
NOTE: Sellers will have to carry their items a short distance to the swap meet area, so bring a hand truck or small cart if you have anything heavy. The school requests that you please use extra care not to mark the floors with your hand cart and please bring a covering for your table as not to scratch it.
AUCTION !!
This years meet will also feature a silent auction! If you have some items that you would like to sell and are unsure of their value, this silent auction format will provide a very good means to sell them.
The rules for the silent auction will be as follows:
Items for sale will be accepted for display between 9:00 am and 10:30 am.
The club will provide forms for you to list your name, describe your item, establish a minimum bid, and specify types of payment that will be accepted.
Bidding on all items will cease promptly at 1:00 pm.
At 1:00 pm, settlement will take place between the seller and high bidder.
Bidders should be aware that all items put up for sale are being sold "as is" and should take note of the types of payment that the seller is willing to accept.
There will be no seller's fee accessed by the club for any items sold through the silent auction.
This is the first time we are trying this. If any member has a suggestion to improve the format of the auction, please pass it along to a club officer.
In keeping with tradition of past meets, the club will hold a 50/50 raffle and will provide complimentary coffee, snacks and pop, with hot dogs being sold for a nominal charge.
We'll see you in November!!
