NARC Picnic!

Sunday August 19, 2018
11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Snail Lake Regional Park
Shoreview, Minnesota

picnic shelter

Come to the Northland Antique Radio Club summer picnic! We've had a good time doing this the past two summers, so we're doing it again - but this time at a nicer park!

This is a rain or shine event for the whole family, so bring your spouse, kids, or whoever else you think might enjoy picnicking with a bunch of radio collectors.

The shelter is ours starting at 11:00 am, and we'll probably start eating around noon. It will be a potluck, so bring food to share, plus whatever you want to drink (alcohol is not permitted in the park). There are electrical outlets if needed, two charcoal grills, and a water fountain. The club will provide paper plates, napkins, and plastic silverware.

This will be a great time to socialize with other members and have some fun. This year everyone should bring along a vintage portable radio or phonograph, or whatever other vintage picnic type of item you might have. It'll be fun to see what everyone shows up with and maybe we'll all learn something new. We're also planning a few games and contests this year. Radiola II portable radio

Snail Lake Regional Park is located at 4191 Snail Lake Blvd., in Shoreview, Minnesota. This is just north of I-694 and a little east of the Shoreview twin TV towers that you see while driving down 694. It is very easy to get to: Exit I-694 at Victoria Street, go north 1/4 mile and turn right (east) onto County Road F, then follow that to the park. Drive past the first entrance by the huge picnic pavilion and playground, and then turn left at the next entrance. Stay to the left, going past the restrooms near the beach and park at the far end of the parking lot. We have the picnic shelter which is by the lake and about 150 feet from the far end of the parking lot. It is a short walk on a tar path, past a volleyball court, to the very scenic shelter we have reserved.

NOTE: Park rules prohibit selling stuff, so please don't bring anything to sell.

See you there!
