Everyone is encouraged to support this, and future NARC events, by registering! Registration is required to sell items in the parking lot, and for admittance to the Hospitality Room, the Pavek Museum, and for all indoor events except the auction. Registration is not actually required to buy or sell at the auction, or to buy at the outdoor swap meet, but we do encourage everyone to register since your support is needed to continue holding these events in the future. All who register will be put on the NARC mailing list and may receive emails when we learn of other area auctions, sales, etc., that would be of interest to radio collectors. You can pre-register (and save $4.00) by returning the enclosed registration form before May 9th to: NARC, PO Box 18362, Minneapolis, MN 55418. After you arrive, please pick up your name badge and other materials in the Registration Room. The meet kicks off with a large antique radio auction in the hotel main ballroom at 7:00 p.m. Friday! You do not need to be registered for Radio Daze to buy or sell at this auction. Consign any radio items you want to sell by bringing them to the auction between 3 - 6 p.m.
Visit the Hospitality Room next to the Registration room for coffee, pop, and snacks! A light lunch will be available in the hospitality room on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm. Some other choices are Lucky's 13 Pub within the hotel and other restaurants nearby, including Perkins, Jake’s Sports Bar, and several fast food establishments |
NARC is proud to have Andrew Baron as our featured speaker this year. Since childhood, Andrew has repaired and restored everything from old clocks and wind-up phonographs to typewriters, cash registers, music boxes, vintage radios and even antique cars. The Library of Congress and the Edison Museum in Fort Myers, Florida have sought out his expertise and he was selected to restore the fabulous Henri Maillardet Automaton at the Franklin Institute. Andrew is also a radio collector, creates cutting edge pop-up art, and is a Theremin virtuoso. (We're hoping to get the Pavek Museum's Theremin over to the hotel so he can perform for us.) For more about Andrew and the automaton go to www.popyrus.com/hugo. |
